In order to provide protective gear to healthcare workers, Louis Vuitton has repurposed several of the Maison’s ateliers across France to produce non-surgical face masks and hospital gowns.
THE NON-SURGICAL FACE MASKS In partnership with Mode Grand Ouest, a regional network of the textile industry who are supplying one of the main materials, Louis Vuitton will donate hundreds of thousands of much-needed non-surgical protective masks to frontline healthcare workers.
Above, Michael Burke, Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO, formalised the start of production by visiting the Sainte-Florence workshop, where twenty-two artisans are voluntarily stationed and already making masks that will be provided to protect frontline healthcare workers.
THE HOSPITAL GOWNS In addition, twenty volunteers have started producing thousands of gowns in the ready-to-wear atelier located on Paris’ rue du Pont Neuf, home to Louis Vuitton's headquarters. These gowns will be donated to frontline workers in six Parisian hospitals of the “Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris”, also known as AP-HP.
